Summer Reading

Summer Reading Programs were originally designed by public libraries to help elementary-aged students avoid summer learning loss by encouraging them to read. Our Summer Reading Programs have grown to include programs & prizes for all age groups, making it a true community-wide program. 

In 2023, 121 readers participated in our Summer Reading Challenge. They earned 791 rewards and read 75,181 minutes from June 1 through July 31. During this same period, we had over 1700 attendees for our Library Camps and other various library programs.

This year, our program kicks off May 30 and continues until July 31. Children, teens & adults log reading time on our Beanstack app. They earn prizes as incentives along the way.

Our Summer Reading Program is a great tool for those in our community and surrounding communities to learn, establish bonds, and stay involved with those around them!
