The Montpelier Public Library loves to serve the youth in the surrounding areas. Check out our monthly calendar and Facebook page for up to date information! 

Some of our youth programs include: 

  • Lego Club: Lego Club meets every Monday from 6-7pm. All ages! Check our monthly calendar to ensure dates and times, as Lego Club does not meet during the summer months.
  • Movin'-2-Music: M2M features 30 minutes of dancing with a lovely librarian! Be sure to check our Facebook for up to date information and days! Ages 0-5.
  • Teen Advisory Group: Teen Advisory Group (TAG) meets twice a month to discuss upcoming fundraisers and ways to improve the library, from a teenager's perspective. Interested in joining? Stop by the library for an application, and check our monthly calendar for meeting dates! Open to middle and high schoolers!
  • Storytime: Welcoming ages 0-5 into the library every Wednesday at 10am for stories, crafts, activities, and singing with one of our fun librarians! No registration or library card required!
  • Pokémon/Magic the Gathering: Interested in these card games? Stop by the library to challenge your skills and play with friends and peers on select Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30pm. Check our calendar for more info!
  • Top Secret Thursday: Come in on Thursdays from 4-5pm for an activity or craft. We will have new activities and crafts each week for you to enjoy. Ages 5 & up. 
  • 1,000 Books Books Before Kindergarten: MPL's favorite way to help prepare your children for school, and to help foster a love of reading! 
  • 500 Books Before Middle School: MPL's newest reading challenge, for kindergarten - third grade readers!
  • 500 Books Before Graduation: MPL's newest reading challenge for middle schoolers - high schoolers! 
  • Summer Reading Programs: Summer Reading is not quite the same without free personal pan pizzas, but we do our best to come close! Stay tuned for our shenanigans and crafts next summer!
